A few reminders

Remember, the final exam is on Wednesday, December 14 from 10:45 - 1:15 in Kiely 258. To help you study, I've attached a sample final exam from Fall 2015.
To prepare for class next week, Read sections 7.1, 7.2, 7.3. As a test of your understanding, solve the last problem on the Fall 2015 final exam.

Fourth exam and final exam
Just a couple of reminders about upcoming exams:
- The fourth in class exam will be on Thursday, December 1.
- The final exam will be on Wednesday, December 14 from 10:45 - 1:15. The room will be announced later.

- Skim through section 5.4 on general logs and exponents and try to get the main idea.
- Read section 5.5 on exponential growth and decay and do exercises 3 and 5.
- Caregully study section 5.6. Pay attention to the definitions and examples. Do exercises 1, 3, 5, and 7.
Homework
The third exam is on Tuesday, November 8. It will cover sections 5.1, 5.2, and 5.3 and the subsection of 5.4 called "the number e as a limit" on page 281. I've assigned problems from these sections already, but not many from 5.3. Here are some more:

Class cancelled Thursday October 27
There will be no class today, that's Thursday October 27. I apologize for the last minute cancellation.

Update: Because of class cancellation, the third exam, originally scheduled for Tuesday November 1 is rescheduled for Tuesday, November 8.

Carefully study sections 5.3. Pay attention to the definitions and theorems.
- Be sure you've read sections 5.1 and 5.2 and done the exercises that have already been assigned.
- Section 5.2 Exercises: 55, 57, 59, 61, 65, 69, 73
- Section 5.3 Exercises: 1-10, 23, 27.
We've covered most everything in Section 5.3 already. One thing we haven't done in class yet is derive a formula for the derivative of the exponential function, which you'll need for exercises 23 and 27. This is Theorem 8 in Section 5.3, so spend some extra time to understand that.
