Course information
MATH143 is an overview of techniques of integration and the theory of infinite series.
Prerequisites: Math 142.

Textbook: Essential Calculus, Second Edition, by James Stewart. We will cover Sections 6.1-6.5, 5.8, 6.6, and 8.1-8.8.
Midterms: There will be two midterms.
Homework : There will be homework every week, on WebAssign. To sign up, follow these instructions: 1) Go to webassign.net 2) You will need to register, using the class key "qc 9431 7862" (without quotation marks). If you have any trouble with webassign, there is a technical support hotline at 1-800-955-8275.
Final Exam: There will be a final exam, held on
Grading: The grade will be calculated as follows: 25% Homework, 25% for each midterm, and 25% for the final.

Week 4: Homework on Section 6.5 due on September 23. First Midterm will be held on October 18, in class. It will cover Sections 6.1-6.3, 6.5, 5.8, and 6.6.
Week 5: Homework on Section 5.8 due on September 29.

Week 9: No homework.

Week 13: Homework on Section 8.6 due on November 29.
Week 14: Midterm #2 on December 8, covering Sections 8.1-8.8. Here is a practice midterm. It is longer than what the actual midterm will look like (so that you can have more practice).
Week 15: Final exam is on Dec. 14 at 10:45am-1:15pm, in Kiely Hall 270. Here is a practice final.
