Course information

MATH301/601 is an introduction to Abstract Algebra.

  • Prerequisites: Math 231 or the equivalent.

  • Course Coordinator: Moshe Adrian; office Kiely Hall 603; e-mail: madrianaqc.cuny.edu
  • Textbook: I will be lecturing out of the book "Abstract Algebra: Theory and Applications", by Thomas Judson.
  • Quizzes: There will be one quiz per week. Every week I will suggest some problems from the book to work on in preparation for the quiz.
  • Grading: The quizzes will determine 100% of the final grade. The final grades will be based around the following rubric: A range is 90-100, B range is 80-89, C range is 70-79, D range is 60-69, and anything below is an F.
